International Week

MDES's International week will be a celebration of the many cultures that make up the fabric of our wonderful school community.

International Week will take place November 15-19, 2021. This year's theme is Festivals of the World, and the celebration will include various displays throughout the school and a museum-like table display for the students to learn and enjoy in the MUR.

International Week is organized and presented entirely by student and parent volunteers. So, in order to pull off a great event for our MDES family many volunteers are needed to create table displays! The displays should be really engaging - pictures, household items, clothes, toys, posters, etc. This year’s theme is Festivals of the World, and the displays should really highlight the theme.

If you would like to help us celebrate and highlight a festival from your culture, or a country you've visited and fell in love with, please complete this form or contact Laura Graham at

Also, check out MDES' International Week website here, which will be updated as countries join the celebrations.

Groove Park trash Concerns

Our Mayor CW Wolfe has made the following request:

You may have seen some recent social media posts alleging that trash is being left on tables, benches, on the lawn, and in the tree/flower beds at The Grove by students who gather at the park after school.

Citizens have taken it upon themselves to clean up the park, but they are also now taking a public stance that something needs to be done to curb this behavior.

Would you please remind your children that we could use their help in keeping The Grove clean for everyone by putting trash into available receptacles before leaving?

All of Clayton is welcome to enjoy The Grove, and keeping it clean is the right thing to do.
