Continuing to expand opportunities for our students!

We have continued to expand our after school programs and partnerships this year in amazing ways! We now have over 8 clubs. The Seattle Storm WNBA team came to White Center Heights to play basketball with our basketball club girls twice this month! This was an amazing partnership between the Seattle Storm, Nike, and our school. A big shoutout to Shoshanna Cohen our STEM Specialist who put this and many of our other after school programs together.

Our students also had a chance to see the broadway play Frozen at the Paramount Theater last week! This was through a partnership with Disney which is also what is facilitating our Lion King Club that is putting on a production of the Lion King Play this week! Our students have been meeting after school to practice the play and to create sets for the play. We partnered with a local high school (Aviation) and their high schoolers have been coming by and helping our students in this work. Another shoutout to Shoshanna Cohen and Corey Mikkelson for making this happen.

We continue to look for community partnerships to support our school and students and are excited to keep on providing amazing experiences for our students! Below is a picture of our Lion King club and the Storm event in our Gym:
