Continuing to expand opportunities for our students!
Our students also had a chance to see the broadway play Frozen at the Paramount Theater last week! This was through a partnership with Disney which is also what is facilitating our Lion King Club that is putting on a production of the Lion King Play this week! Our students have been meeting after school to practice the play and to create sets for the play. We partnered with a local high school (Aviation) and their high schoolers have been coming by and helping our students in this work. Another shoutout to Shoshanna Cohen and Corey Mikkelson for making this happen.
We continue to look for community partnerships to support our school and students and are excited to keep on providing amazing experiences for our students! Below is a picture of our Lion King club and the Storm event in our Gym:

- The White Center Heights Elementary clothing store is open year round, you may have seen our staff sporting some of this stylish gear, 10% of profits go towards our PE program. Go to http://bit.ly/wchclothing to get some for you or your student
- Need a booster seat, 3 in 1 car seat, umbrella stroller, or high chair for your student or other children? WestSide Baby has offered to provide these for free to any families that need them, please stop by the office and let us know you want one, we will put down your name and call you when they are delivered.
- Volunteers needed! If you would like to volunteer at our school to tutor students, help teachers, or help students come in to the main office to sign up to be a volunteer!
- Students will not be released for early dismissal after 3:20 pm Monday through Thursday, and 1:55 pm on Fridays.
- We have continued to diversify our staff at White Center Heights, we have hired over 12 new staff members this year and over 80% have been staff of color that represent the cultures of our student. We continue to search for community members to hire, if you know of anybody looking to work in education, send them our way! Congratulations to our Award Nominated Teachers!
Four White Center Heights teachers have been nominated for the district Gold Star Award! Congratulations to Kelsey Roehner, Jordan Reni, Sally Wilma, and Tien Vo for all being nominated for this award that recognizes teachers who show outstanding service to students and education in Highline.
Coffee with the Principal Dates for 2019-2020 School Year
Coffee with the Principals are the first Wednesday of every month. They are an opportunity for our WCH families earn about what is going on in the school and provide feedback!
