Making A Difference

Carmel Creek September 5, 2015

What a wonderful second week! Back to School Night was a great success. Thank you again for your preparations, teamwork and professionalism. The parents felt informed. It was evident that our families fully trust that each teacher at Carmel Creek will work toward ensuring educational success and social emotional growth in every child. Your dedication, child-centered approach to instruction and support for one another resonated through the hallways of our school building.

Thanks to all for supporting our Safety Week. The parents received information to reinforce Carmel Creek rules. Our BTSN addressed safety procedures and introduced our anti-bullying programs. Best practices for pedestrian crossing were reviewed. Second Steps was introduced and our cougar cards were used to reinforce our children's efforts to be respectful, to make good choices and to be a problem solver.

We received a good amount of District level support to help us kick off our year. We want to extend a special thanks to our tech department, Caroline Brown for getting our fencing complete before school started, Sal and Susan Jensen for helping us process our 14 new staff members, Carlos Estrella, Assistant Superintendent of Business, Pupil Services for support our special education staff and Instructional Services for providing resources and site support. A special thanks to our Superintendent, Terry Decker and our Board President, Vicki King for attending our Back to School Night.

It was treat to honor Rosemary on her 60th. Happy Birthday Rosemary!

Our new Grandma, Margaret, had a celebration surprise. A grandma shower! She is now ready to babysit! Thanks social committee! The friendships and support for one another is appreciated.

A special week of exploring our school building for our four Kinder classes. Ms. Benson and Ms. Beebe's class grooved to the likes of "Pete the Cat." Ms. Laughlin and Mrs. Robert's class went on "Bear Hunt"! All classes enjoyed the mystery and suspense of a scavenger hunt while learning about Carmel Creek and meeting various staff members. Thanks to all who supported our kinder's with this weeks literature adventures. Special first experiences and memories are making a lifelong difference for our little ones.

Our abilities awareness week is planned for the week of October 12th -16th. Our special support team members; Karras, Katie, Susan, Viyan, Teri, Lisa O., Hilda and Kara have begun to plan.
