Happy Spring!
Wow, have we been on a roller coaster ride of weather! I’ll take the sun and warmth any day! Students and staff always seem to be a little more energetic and have a more positive outlook as I see them in the classrooms and hallways (could it be because the end of the school year is fast approaching?) 😊
There are many exciting events occurring at our school this spring, including outdoor sporting events, final competitions and concerts, end of year AP and final exams, awards and recognitions, prom, and of course, graduation. The end of the year is always a mix of excitement and apprehension… not just for our seniors, but their families and the Marian staff as well! We always hope that we can ease the students’ anxieties and keep them focused to the end of the school year so they can complete their high school years, putting their best foot forward. Clearly, though, the seniors have a lot to be excited about as their Marian years come to a close next month. I hope that they always have fond memories of their time here at Marian Central Catholic.
As one class prepares to leave, and a new class prepares to join the Marian family, administrators and teachers are busy preparing next year’s calendar, developing plans for new classes and new faces, and making sure that what Marian Central offers meets the needs of more and more students in the McHenry area. For example, our new Advisory period seems to have been a success this year, bringing students wellness and Catholic Identity experiences as well as opportunities to serve others. We will continue to build upon what we have established to make the Advisory period a valued part of our students’ school day in the years ahead.
Please know that we are open to your suggestions with regards to future curriculum offerings, Advisory topics, or assemblies and speakers. All you have to do is reach out to one of the administrative team members. This is OUR school… our students’ and our parents’… our faculty’s and our staff’s… and when we all approach our daily tasks regarding this school, keeping this in mind helps us stay focused on the greater good.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. ~ Romans 8:28
Blessing to you and yours as we wrap up the last half quarter of this school year.

College Decision Day - Monday, May 1st
To celebrate national College Decision Day on Monday, May 1st, Marian Central Catholic Seniors may wear a tshirt or sweatshirt from the college or university they plan to attend next fall. Please wear school appropriate shorts, jeans, or sweats (with no holes). Seniors wishing to not wear their college gear should then be in school uniform along with all other students. We will also take college decision pictures during lunch to share on social media.
Seniors who have not yet notified Mr. Wochner where they will be attending next year, please complete this short GoogleForm. This is how we will know where to send final transcripts.
Living Rosary Volunteers Needed
Mrs. Diamond from the Guidance Office is seeking Marian student volunteers to participate in a Living Rosary at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Crystal Lake on Wednesday, May 10 at 6:30 PM.
She is looking for 8-10 students to represent Marian as a "Decade" of the Rosary to honor our Blessed Virgin Mary. It will only take about an hour of your time and will be a great way to show our Marian pride and devotion to our Blessed Mother.
Please contact her at jdiamond@marian.com if interested or have your student stop by Guidance. God Bless!
