March 2019 Newlsetter

A Message From The Board of Directors

2019 is already shaping up to be a busy year and If you are tired of shoveling snow you are in good company. I think this year has reminded me that I still do live in Minnesota. However, March is here and with it comes Spring, a season I have always enjoyed. I love seeing the snow piles melt and be replaced with the lush green landscape as life returns. If you are looking forward to summer, I want to encourage you to check out the Home and Business Expo where you are sure to glean some inspiration for the warmer weather. Summer will be here soon and as we all know it is very short, if you have projects you are looking to get done this year the business expo is a great way to meet businesses and get on their schedules early.

If you have been watching our community you may have noticed that some new businesses have moved into the area which i am very excited to see. We are quickly becoming an area with a wealth of great options for dining and entertainment. You do not have to travel far to find a great place to spend an evening with friends and family.

Along with the many great changes in the community, the Chamber has seen some changes of its own. We have a new director Katie Malchow who if you have not met I would encourage you to reach out and introduce yourself. She is a great resource as you continue to grow your business and has a passion for facilitating connections between businesses. If you are new to the area or have been in business for a long time she will be a great benefit to you.

The Chamber has some big plans for 2019 and as the year progresses be sure to check out the Facebook page and keep current on whats happening in the Lakes Area. Also, there are many ways for you to get involved and get plugged into the Lakes Area. One of the biggest benefits we get from our membership is the opportunity to get to know our neighbors. There are many options and if you are interested, please reach out to the chamber and we will be happy to help you find the right opportunity to help build your network.

Lastly, we would love to hear from our members so please reach out if you have some feedback. As a chamber we want to know how we might better serve your business or organization. I am excited about 2019 as we continue to work together to make the Lakes Area a great place to live, work, and play.
