Message From the Principal
Dear Parents,
We have just four more school days next week before students are off for the Thanksgiving break. I am so thankful for the hard work of our students, teachers, staff, parents, and partners. This week was all about celebrating our stars!
The World Language Department celebrated French National Week and with a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony. Le Petit Cafe’ was open for business for our French students. Thank you, parents, for supporting this authentic experience for our Titans! Thank you also to Mr. Karim Souchu for so generously sharing your time in the classroom and on the basketball courts with our students.
At the Legacy of Excellence Awards, we celebrated our 2018 Teacher of the Year, Rawlings Johnson, and our 2018 Professional of the Year, Lisa O'Hanlon Cowles. We also honored our 2018 Prestigious Partner, Summit Counseling Center for helping our Titans live strong!
Thank you PTSA for helping us show our students just how much we appreciate them for working hard and reaching their personal goals! PTSA volunteers served every student an ice-cream treat for their part in increasing our CCRPI score by 11.8 points. It is important for our students to know that we value their diligence and when we work together, the stars truly do align. We believe in your child's ability to progress and grow.
Please help us to continue to serve our students to the best education we can give by having your child to school every day and on time. On Saturday, November 10th, we look forward to seeing students at Titan Advantage. All students are welcome to attend!
Sincerely,
Kindra L. Smith, Ed.S

CELEBRATE SMART, HAPPY, CONNECTED @ EPMS!
Japanese Green Tea Ceremony
On Friday during the 1st and 2nd period, there was a Tea Ceremony demonstration performed by a tea master from Japan. The tea ceremony is a ritual of preparing and serving green tea, but it takes decades for the host to master the art of serving tea, through the study of philosophy, religion, aesthetics, and art. Green tea originated in China and has spread to many countries in Asia. Green tea has been an important part of Japanese history and culture. Japan has so many products using green tea, even “green tea Kit Kat!”
