Camp Week is Here!
I had a lot of fun celebrating the season last weekend and I hope everyone else did, too! After wrapping things off, it seems like we are getting right back on the 'saddle' and preparing for next season! Camp starts this upcoming week and I am hoping, yet again, we get lucky with the weather! We will have alternative plans if it does rain and remember that Friday is a rain make up day if we get completely washed out any day of camp. Be preparing for our two themed camp days: Tuesday will be Bucket Hat Day and Wednesday will be Merica Day!
Other ways to prepare for the 2020 Spring Tennis Season are below!
- Gladiator Tennis, which is super flexible and you can play a lot of guys you'll see next season, as well as USTA Team Tournaments. You get an opponent once a week, and you set up the date/time you can play them! We already have some teammates signed up!
- USTA Tournaments and JTT Tennis
- I will have open courts 2-3 days a week. The tentative schedule is outlined below.
- You also have the clinics and privates offered at all the local tennis clubs (Vetta West, CAC, Woodsmill/Frontenac).
Please be doing something!!! Let me know if you need help selecting what options are best for you!!! All details for each off season activity are below in the newsletter :)

Open Courts TENTATIVE Schedule
We will start open courts the week following our Summer Camp. I am tentatively scheduling these for Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (with the exception of the first week due to basketball camp). The time frame will be in the mornings before it gets too hot. Obviously, weather could change the time frame, but we will likely just go inside and work on conditioning, volleying, and maybe even play some basketball if the courts are available. This means don't expect cancellations due to weather :) I may add some days because we have 4 to give still so I will update that as we get more into the summer time (we can meet 20 times over the summer per MSHSAA Rules).
We will work on our CONDITIONING, FOOTWORK, and TENNIS SKILLS. I will always give time for PRACTICE MATCHES as well at least once during the week. We may invite some other schools and to have a little tournament kind of like we run the JV Tourney just to get some other competition in besides ourselves.

- Check out Vetta West for tennis clinics and privates! They also have rackets for sale and can re-string your racket. This would be one of the closest tennis clubs in the area. There are several others such as Chesterfield Athletic Club, Forest Lake Tennis Club, Woodsmill Tennis Club, and Frontenac.
- Racketman is a great tennis store that can also help fit you with a racket and string it.
- String & Swing Tennis is another store that also sells online. Address is: Tennis Machines, 733 Crown Industrial Court, Unit Q-R, Chesterfield, MO 63005
- There are also some great online tennis stores! They usually have great discounts on apparel, shoes, and rackets.
