QE Weekly Update
9.5.21
Dear QE Families,
The first week of school has been busy! Our morning drop-off and dismissal procedures have been effective and efficient over the last 4 school days and that includes Wednesday's dismissal during a torrential downpour, so thank you for helping us by remaining patient. Our teachers and students have been focusing on routines and procedures and our QE PRIDE mantra and each time I visit a classroom, the playground, lunch, or just passing students in the hallway, I'm almost always greeted by a request for a high-five or fist-bump. We really do have an outstanding group of students and I'm lucky to serve as their principal!
This upcoming week is a shortened week as a result of the holiday and a non-instructional day for teachers, but it will be the start of mandated masking in the building per the order given by the Department of Public Health. We encourage our students to be responsible by wearing their masks correctly while in the building and on the bus and we thank you in advance for your support. Please check out the recent blog by Dr. Harner on protocols for implementation of mask mandate, universal face-covering order exemption request form, and procedures for requests for mask exemptions.
