Mining
They're 2 main types of mining. Surface and Subsurface mining, and there are 3 kinds of surface mining: strip mining, open-pit mining, and mountain-top removal mining. A strip mine is to excavate by making a tunnels and you can usually find ore and coal. An open-pit mine is a surface mine technique that takes out rocks or minerals from the earth by their removal from an open-pit. Mountain-top removal is any method of surface coal mining that destroys a mountain top or ridge line.
Where to Drill?
Drilling is a great way to get resources like oil and minerals, but lots of people don't know whether to drill on the land or drill on the ocean floor. Drilling on land gives the same benefits as drilling in the ocean in the same way that you would still get the same oil and minerals, but drilling in the ocean would cost more to make the drill longer and more efficient. Some environmental concerns include: damage to the environment, fumes from the drill destroys our atmosphere, and lastly the the drilling takes away the homes of wildlife and leaves a portion of the wildlife dead.

Environmental Concerns With Drilling
Fracking
Fracking is the process of injecting liquid (at extremely high pressure) into subterranean rocks, boreholes to force open existing fissures and extract oil or gas. Fracking obtains gas and oil. Some environmental concerns include: water and air being polluted by waste produced from fracking activites, and the chemicals harm the environment.
