Teaching, learning and assessment for ER in a "Nutshell"
Issue 3
Thank you so much for your feedback following the Assessor training day. The evaluation forms have now been analysed and the outcomes are outlined below.
Following this training session attendees had increased their level of knowledge.
· Prior to the event 15.8% rated their knowledge as Very Good. Following the event, 57.9% rated their knowledge as Very Good.
· Prior to the event 31.6% rated their knowledge as only Ok, however, following the event this had decreased to 5.3% of attendees rating their knowledge as only OK.
· All attendees agreed that their objectives for attending the event were fully met, that there are ideas they can use straight away and that the overall standard of the presentation was good.
· The majority of attendees agreed that they were confident about putting into practice what they had learnt.

Meet the Team
What can the Teaching, Learning and assessment Team offer you?
Each Curriculum Area has a lead coach attached to them who is available to support members of staff on a one to one basis or as a team. All you need to do to book a session with your coach is email them directly or email qualitylearningandteaching@centralnottingham.ac.uk and one of the team will put you in touch with the relevant coach for your area. The team has a wealth of experience of supporting other staff in their professional development and of driving improvement in teaching and learning through helping tutors and assessors achieve their potential.

- Bespoke CPD sessions for small groups/teams
- Assist in the development of effective SOWs, learning plans, and clear assessment schedules/plans
- Assist in developing ILPs and Course Handbooks that meet the College Standards
- Cast an eye over learning resources for SPaG errors
- Arrange a short TeachMeet type activity for a team meeting for your curriculum area or in combination with another

Assessment for Learning, Formative Assessment, Assessment as Learning, Checks on Learning etc etc.
Whatever you call it; tutors and assessors need to know about their learners’ progress and difficulties with understanding so that they can adapt the activity to meet their needs.
