Message from the President

Being a mother is what our club is all about so Mother's Day is a special day of the year for all of us! I wanted to wish each and every one of you a heartfelt Happy Mother's Day!! You are all wonderful mothers that work so hard every single day. This is your special day to be honored for all that you do. I hope that you thoroughly enjoy your day!

I came across this little fact on www.mothersdaycelebration.com: "Mothers Day came into being due to the efforts made by Ms Julia Ward Howe and Ms Anna Jarvis. The Resolution for having a dedicated Mother's Day was signed by US President Woodrow Wilson on May 8, 1914. Since then people across the world have been celebrating Mothers Day with joy and devotion".

I found a couple of cute poems that I thought I would share (the first 2 are from www.mothersdaycelebration.com):

"Happy Mothers Day"
"Happy Mother's Day" means more
Than have a happy day.
Within those words lie lots of things
We never get to say.
It means I love you first of all,
Then thanks for all you do.
It means you mean a lot to me,
And that I honor you.

But most of all, I guess it means
That I am thinking of
Your happiness on this, your day,
With pleasure and with love
Raul

I Love You Mom!
Mom's smiles can brighten any moment,
Mom's hugs put joy in all our days,
Mom's love will stay with us forever
and touch our lives in precious ways...
The values you've taught,
the care you've given,
and the wonderful love you've shown,
have enriched my life
in more ways than I can count.
I Love you Mom!

A Mother's Love

A mother gives her children
Stepping stones to the stars
Her love is unconditional
Her heart has no bars

A mother teaches her children
To be confident and bold
Her special love for her children
More valuable than silver or gold

A mother picks up her children
And wipes away life's tears
She scares away monsters in the night
And silences life's fears

A mother celebrates
Her children's accomplishments in life
She hurts and cries with them
When life brings times of strife

A mother shares her love freely
With her tender loving way
She grows more beautiful
To her children with each passing day

Mother, I'm grateful
for all these things that you do
And on this special Mother's Day
I want you to know how much I love you

Past Events

Well our Fabby Shabby shower event for CHC was a huge success!! We had a great turn out for the event and we were able to collect a lot of items to donate to CHC! Beth, the executive director of CHC attended our event and was very grateful for all of our donations and for the money donated from the Mom's Club account. So thank you, thank you to everyone for attending and donating- we really appreciate it! It was a really fun night and it was great to see everyone.
Other events that we enjoyed this month were park days, the Children's museum, Pump it Up, and members social at the park. We also tried a few new things this month that were a lot of fun: a morning at Mr. B's coffee house and seeing the model train displays. It was a great month!

Save the Date!!

In June we will be having our annual end of the year dinner to celebrate a great year and a wonderful group of ladies. It will be held on Thursday June 11th at 7:00 pm at the Plumsteadville Inn. Please mark your calendars and say that you will join us! This will be our big end of the year celebration before the summer starts- it is sure to be a great night. We hope to see everyone there!
