He formulated a theory of evolution by natural selection.
He was born on February 12th in 1809 and died April 19th in 1882. He was born and died in England. He studied in medicine at The University of Edinburgh and also got a bachelor degree in arts at the University of Cambridge. He married Emma Darwin in 1839. He was awarded three notable awards, the Royal Medal (1853), the Wolliston Medal (1859),and the Copley Medal (1864). He became a popular author after writing and publishing The Voyage of the Beagle.
