HOME OF THE SUPERVIOLETS
Principal's Message
Hello Families of Violet students,
The start of the school year has been unlike any other. For some students, it’s a little harder to get back into the swing of school after our extended time away. However, we have been in school for ten days and most of our students have transitioned smoothly into the Hybrid and Virtual format of school. I know that the year started a little bumpy and technology was a little touch and go, but it's going to get better as we move through the next several weeks of school. It is extremely important for students to maintain a structure while at home learning, so that they can stay focused on their lessons. As the school year continues, the academic work will increase, so have your students work each day on a few assignments and not wait until the day everything is due.
As a community of learners, we are working to ensure that all teachers, and staff this year embrace a mindset of patience and a great desire for EXCELLENCE. We believe that just as it is important to teach reading and math skills, it is equally important to teach our children about ways to be successful. Our goal is to develop learners who persevere in their pursuit of learning and goal attainment. We look forward to partnering with you in this effort!
Please know that your child’s academic learning and social-emotional growth is of utmost importance to us here at Violet. We recognize that as parents, you play an important role in your child’s education. Therefore, we invite you to take an active role in your student’s learning experience by:
Collaborating with your child’s teacher(s) in order to establish a healthy and successful relationship
Maintain open communication to ensure a successful partnership throughout the year
Commit to increasing your parental engagement and involvement for the 2020-2021 school year, especially with students completing learning at home as well as school.
We will continue our mission to Be Kind, Be Helpful, and to Be Caring at Violet ES. Please continue to remind students about ways that they can display these characteristics in and out of school. We will also continue to celebrate students in many ways, such as birthday shoutouts, Student of the Month, Super Violet Award, etc. We can never celebrate enough when it comes to our students.

This very special twist will allow all students the ability to still participate in this fun and exciting program.
The donations raised will help to fund:
- Web-based Enrichment Activities
- Virtual Format Enhancements

News from the Counselor
Go Gold for Pediatric Cancer
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Violet Elementary would like to bring awareness to this special cause. One of our Kindergarten student's was recently diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment. You can follow her journey on the facebook page, Princess Libby's Fight. Her family would like to bring awareness to childhood cancer while also leaving an impact on our community. They would like to encourage anyone who is able to participate in Pickerington Central's National Honor Society, Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, September, 22nd at Violet Baptist Church. See the flyer below for more details. Please keep this sweet family in your thoughts.
Great Work!
I have been impressed with the Counselor Connection activities students have submitted on SeeSaw. Keep up the great work! Parents I know we had a few challenges with technology over the past few weeks, but we are learning as we go and it will get better! Thank you for your patience and hard work. Keep reaching out to me with any concerns you have about the activities or about your child. This includes families in our Virtual Learning Academy!
