Did you know that YouTube is a part of the Google family? YouTube videos have become a very important tool for teachers to deliver some great content to students. Now you can login with your Google account and subscribe to content channels such as Khan Academy, Hour of Code, and so much more. These 3 tips will help you get the most out of YouTube.

1. Sign-in--YouTube is one of the Google apps. If you are logged into gmail or calendar, just click to open a new tab and open YouTube. You can have your own channel, playlists, and subscriptions.

2. Subscribe to Channels--This allows you to see and know when your favorite channel adds new content. When you click on subscriptions in your lists, you will see everything loaded from your subscriptions. For example, you can subscribe to the old "SchoolHouse Rocks" videos.

3. Build playlists of your favorite videos--This allows you to have a list of videos in your account without having to search for them each time. You can also share these playlists with others.

Grant writing time

It is that time of the year again when teachers are thinking of Education Foundation grants. If you want to write a grant that includes technology of any kind, please put in a ticket, email, or call so we can assist you. It is very important that grant funds are used toward equipment that will work with the district network.

If you are looking at any type of software, I highly recommend web-based software that is easily updated by the company. Most importantly you want software that can be accessed by the students anywhere they have internet access to allow for anytime learning opportunities.

Let us know if we can assist you with pricing as well. We have access to education vendors that may offer better pricing than what you can find at a normal retail store online.

Check out the Education Foundation website for more information including the grant application and deadlines. Good luck with your grant writing process!
