Excellent Leaders Modeling Success
Read 180
Starting next week four teachers will be implementing Read 180 in their classrooms. READ 180, is an effective system for raising reading achievement in Grades 4–12. The program is designed to support educators while helping struggling readers meet the rigorous expectations of the new standards and experience success on the new assessments. Ms. Batten, Ms. Morrison, Ms. Holly, and Mr. Toth will be leading the Read 180 journey at East Lee Middle School. All teachers can help reinforce this program by having students read leveled reading books and if by spending extra time in class on the technology program that can be accessed at anytime.

Goals range for classroom behavior, academic grades, and character education traits. The ROCKETS are on the right path to success!
Mrs. Beal STANDS on her head to help students learn!
Mrs. Beal recently taught the vocabulary word reciprocal. She challenged her students to correctly state the steps of a problem and if they were correct she would stand on her head. Her kids showed her how smart they were:)

Take a Trip to Africa
Students took a virtual trip to Africa. A student teacher named Mr. Cameron Yarbrough collaborated with Ms. Redding and Mr. Scobbie on student questions about Kampal, Uganda. Mr. Cameron Yarbrough not only answered questions but also sent pictures of his everyday experiences. This was a great treat for our students.
