Banned or Challenged
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck 1937
When , Where and Why ?
The book Of Mice and Men was challenged in 1991 in Ringgold High school in Carroll Township ,PA . The book was banned by the high school because they said that the book had many offensive words towards African Americans . Also because the book had a lot of hard words that student shouldn't say .
I think
The book should be available because even though it does have some hard language it is a good book that teaches a person a lot of things that can happen to others. Also because it a story that shows that friendship does really exists not matter a person health condition.
“A guy needs somebody―to be near him. A guy goes nuts if he ain't got nobody. Don't make no difference who the guy is, long's he's with you. I tell ya, I tell ya a guy gets too lonely an' he gets sick.”
