What a Fat Man Bomb is

"Fat Man" was the code name for the type of atomic bomb that was detonated over the Japanese city of Nagasaki by the United States on 9 August 1945.

Facts about the bombing

  1. Enola Gay, and american bomber, dropped the bomb.
  2. President Harry S. Truman Ordered that the new weapon be used to bring the war to a speedy ending.
  3. The blast was equivalent to the power of 15,000 TONS of TNT.
  4. Tens of thousands more people died in the following weeks of radiation poisoning.
