Scouting for Shoes
Together We Can Make A Difference and Save the Planet One Pair At-a-Time!
(via GSGATL)
We are proud to be partnering with ShoeBox Recycling to offer our supporters the opportunity to raise funds for Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta in an environmentally friendly way.
The program is simple. You collect gently used, re-wearable shoes. ShoeBox Recycling will pay us $.50 for each pound collected. We will put these funds toward your Annual Fund Campaign fundraising efforts. ShoeBox Recycling also provides us with boxes to fill and also covers all shipping costs.
Every pair of shoes recycled will live happily on someone else's feet. In fact, one of the most exciting parts to this is the opportunity to meet your SoleMate or the future owner of your shoes by placing a note securely inside the shoes you plan to recycle.
Our troop will be participating in Scouting for Shoes as our Earth Day Project. For the next meeting, we will like every girl to bring in at least one pair of gently used shoes for our project. If you can bring two pairs, great! If you can bring a whole bag, AWESOME!
Please see the guidelines below.
We accept pairs of women’s, men’s, and children’s shoes, which may include athletic sneakers, cleats, flats, high heels, dress shoes, dress boots, and fashion or casual sneakers.
• DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING: ski boots, roller skates, roller blades, ice skates, broken, wet, muddy or ruined footwear, single shoes, rubber flip flops, or slippers.
So it's time to clean out your closets and donate some shoes.
Not only will your daughter be helping those in need, she will get an annual fund contribution made in her name, and she will receive a cool patch!
