Autism Acceptance
The Infinity symbol represents Autism. This rainbow-colored infinity symbol represents the diversity of the autism spectrum as well as the greater neurodiversity movement. With that stated, during the week of April 4th – 8th, Jamison has some events planned to support Autism acceptance and generate financial assistance for our Sensory Garden. The Sensory Graden will benefit all students at Jamison.
Monday April 4th- Wear a color(s) from the Infinity symbol (rainbow). Students can wear as many colors from the symbol as they’d like. Also on Monday, each student in every grade level will be given a symbol to color. All symbols will be collected and displayed in our hallway.
Tuesday April 5th- Dine and Donate at Uno’s. Proceeds of this fundraiser will be given to Phase 2 of our Sensory Garden. Please bring the coupon below. Also on Tuesday, Autism advocate and presenter, Ben (from our September Assembly) will be greeting students as they enter the building.
Wednesday April 6th- Our Nick Knack Shack (School Store) will sell 3D tactile and motion sensory trinkets. These sensory items were made by students at Jamison. Again, all proceeds will be given to our Sensory Garden. Items will be $5 a piece.
Thursday April 7th- We will hold a pretzel sale at Jamison. If interested, feel free to visit the Cumbl Cookies at 211 Easton Rd, Warrington between 3pm-9pm and mention you are from Jamison. You can also order online on this day and mention Jamison in the comments. Proceeds from these events will support our Sensory Garden.
Friday April 8th- Students will be given the opportunity to explore our new “sensory paths”, located in our hallways. The paths were created by our own Jamison students!

Uno's Dine and Donate
Garden of Eatin' Sensory Garden Donation
April is Autism Awareness month, and we thought it would be the perfect time to promote phase two of our sensory garden. Grubs Ecology and the 6th grade PEN students are launching a service project to reimagine our Garden of Eatin’ veggie plot as a sensory garden with raised planting boxes with different themes (Veggie Vaults, Pollinator’s Patch, Sunflower Forest, Asparagus Jungle, Pebble Park, Herb Orchard, Potato Playground). We will be sponsoring several fundraisers throughout the month of April. Our first campaign is a direct donation fundraiser. If your family is interested in making a donation, please fill out the bottom slip and return it to school. Cash or checks are both fine. Make checks payable to Jamison Student Activity Account.
We are also planning a plant sale for Mother’s Day and a sensory toy sale at The Nick-Knack Shack throughout the month of April. We’ll be selling the toys and the plants for $5.00.

News from the Nurse
With field trips resuming, please take note of the following: A nurse will not be available to administer medications on field trips. Parents must package medications at home and deliver them in person directly to the child’s teacher in a sealed envelope. Please write on the envelope your child’s name, teacher, medication dosage and the time the medication needs to be given. Your child will be required to self-administer his/her medication under the supervision of the teacher.

Thank you.
