Please Help Make the End of the Day Safe
Parent Pick Up - Parents picking up their child from school should meet in the cafeteria. Parents are welcome to park in the parking lot in front of school, on Cold Spring Road, or along 68th Street. The lane in front of school is reserved for buses and private day care vans. Parents should enter the building through our new double doors to the left of our main entrance. Parents will meet their child at the table designated for their child's grade. If you have more than one student, please sit in area designated for the youngest student. Students will be escorted to the cafeteria by a teacher, who will hand the student off to their parent. Please exit through the new double doors.
Walkers - If you feel your student is ready and able to walk themselves home, please provide a note to their teacher. All walkers will exit from the front of school and should use the sidewalks and designated crosswalks to travel home. Crossing guards are stationed at the corner of Cold Spring and 68th and Bottsford and 68th to assist with travel home. Students can cut across our soccer field to exit the west gate on Bottsford. Walkers should not exit from the back of school through the gate used by our bus students.
Bus Riders - We apologize that our buses have been extraordinarily late at the start of the year. A combination of new drivers and a large number of late enrollments has created unanticipated bus delays. In working with the bus company, they anticipate being close to posted times this week. Bus students go to the gym with a teacher at the end of the day. In the gym, they find their bus line. Once all students are in the gym, they will be led to their bus.
Last Minute Changes - While we understand that things come up and parents will need to change pick up plans, please try to give the office as much notice as possible. At the end of the day, we are handing back over 400 students and the more time we have to alert students and teachers of changes, the easier it is to make those changes happen correctly.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
Parent Morning Drop-Off
Please use Bottsford Avenue
Please be aware that there is no supervision on our playground before school, so please do not arrive before 8:30 AM. Students will be welcomed into school at 8:30 and can go to their classroom or the cafeteria for breakfast.
The front of school is reserved for buses and day care vans. It is dangerous for students to cross around the buses and dangerous for cars to be pulling in and out between buses.
If you arrive at school after 8:45 AM and do not see any adults behind school, please drive to the front of school and have your child go to the office for a tardy slip.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
