Volunteers Needed January 22nd!
2014 Annual Homeless Point in Time Count
If you....
- Enjoy the thrill of meeting new people
- Relish the challenge of canvassing the streets of Clay, Duval, and Nassau Counites
- Are a compassionate citizen who cares about those who do not have a place to call home...
Then you should volunteer for the Point in Time Count!
What is the Point in Time Count?
The Point in Time Count (or PIT), is a national, annual census and survey of the homeless population. The information collected during the PIT is used to help assess how we are doing as a community, and as a nation, to address the needs of people experiencing homelessness.
This year the event will run from 4:00am - 6:00am.

As a volunteer, you can join a survey team or you can be a decoy. Decoys are volunteers that will be placed throughout the community to "act" as someone who is homeless. If the survey team can't find you, then we can estimate how many people we missed during the PIT.
