St. Maria Goretti Catholic School aims to form what is True, Good, and Beautiful in the souls of our young disciples of Christ.
Principal's Message
Dear St. Maria Goretti Catholic School Families,
This year is flying by. I hope that everyone enjoys Labor Day off tomorrow.
Wednesday, September 8th is the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. At the 8:00 AM Mass, our 2nd-grade students will be performing to honor her. Please join us if you are able
Effective October 4, 2021, Food For Life will no longer be providing a hot lunch service. According to feedback I received from my survey, we will not have enough participation to guarantee the 30 meals a day to fulfill our contract. Students need to be sure to bring silverware, napkins, their lunch, and a drink to school each day. We will have an option for students who forget their lunch, no students will go hungry.
Please remember to keep your child home if they are not feeling well. It is extremely important that you notify the front office that your child will be out AND email Nurse Beth when your child is ill.
Nurse Beth and I are working extremely hard to make sure the students on our campus stay healthy and in school. We work in close contact with the Diocesean nurse to ensure we are following the correct guidelines regarding COVID 19. I understand that there has been some confusion. Keep in mind that as the parent, if you or your children have been exposed to someone who is COVID + OR a COVID test is administered for any reason, Nurse Beth should be notified. Students who are awaiting COVID test results are not allowed to return to school until we have a negative test. This is also true for siblings.
We want to keep our school community healthy and we can only do that if we make sure that we communicate with each other.
We ask that you continue to keep our students, teachers, staff, and priests in your prayers.
St. Maria Goretti, Pray for Us!
Blessings,
Amy Utendorf, M.Ed.
Principal

3rd Grade Science
We began part 2 of our unit on Force & Motion. This week we identified what makes objects balance. Balanced forces are those that are opposite in direction and equal in size. Students added weight to their cups to determine how weight affects force and motion. The more massive the object (more inertia) the harder it is to start or stop.
