Park Terrace Elementary
November 17, 2021 Newsletter
Greetings Park Terrace Families!
I hope the week is off to a great start! Around our district, we are sharing our appreciation for our staff as part of American Education Week. I truly cannot express the gratitude in my heart for the work our staff here at Park Terrace does each and every day. In every role, in every job, each person at Park Terrace has the opportunity and seizes the opportunity to make a positive difference in the life of young people.
Additionally, our staff as well as our students and families, have done an incredible job of navigating another school year impacted by COVID-19. I am honored to be a part of this school community and to work alongside so many outstanding individuals. If you have a chance to share appreciation this week, I know it will go a long way.
If making a difference in our student’s education is something you would like to be a part of we would love to welcome you! As I’m sure you have all heard, there is quite the labor shortage happening in many different industries. While we aren’t seeing the same impacts as other districts, we are noticing a shortage of substitute teachers in our schools. The work of the substitute staff, like the work done by our school staff, is truly invaluable. If this is something you may be interested in doing, you just need a college degree. We will help out with the rest. Find out more about becoming a substitute.
It is hard to believe but we are only a week away from Thanksgiving break! Please note that there is no school Wednesday, November 24 through Friday, November 26. We will remind you again as those dates get closer but make sure you are planning ahead for those days.
Students will return from Thanksgiving break on Monday, November 29 for the final week of the trimester! It has gone so fast. We have accomplished so much as a school and our students have grown so much as learners. Hopefully, the break will be a time for you and your student to reflect on what they are thankful for and also the progress made so far this year. Additionally, it is a great chance to rest and come back to school ready for a strong finish to the trimester.
Have a great rest of the week Park Terrace and thank you once again for everything everyone in our school community does to help support the education of our students.
Sincerely,
Mona Perkins
Principal
