Lenten Reflection
At a recent AOB Leadership meeting, we started with prayer and this beautiful song Dream Small by Josh Wilson. It was refreshing to hear such a positive message in a world consumed with the negative and the mantra that we are not enough. It is a perfect touchstone moment for Lent when we rediscover our relationship with God and renew our efforts to fast, pray, and help those in need.
Dream Small-We all wake up with hopes and dreams for the day, as well as our fears and anxieties about what is to come. If you believe we are all created for good, then we may also believe that all our little "good" deeds that we do in the day add up to making the world a better place. We may not win the Nobel Prize, but we may make another feel like they did by our actions. Let's remember to be more like Saint Therese of Lisieux who said, "What matters in life is not great deeds, but great love." Therese lived and taught a spirituality of attending to everyone and everything well and with love. She believed that just as a child becomes enamored with what is before her, we should also have a childlike focus and totally attentive love. Therese's spirituality is of doing the ordinary, with extraordinary love." (https://www.littleflower.org/therese/)
Live Well-This isn't measured by the square footage of our houses or the balance in our bank accounts. It is measured by our thoughts, words, and actions. May they give us life and be life-giving for others.
Let's take time this Lenten Season to answer God's call to serve those in need, to live in virtue, to renew our faith.
We hope the lyrics of Josh Wilson will inspire you this week. Just remember to:
Keep loving, keep serving
Keep listening, keep learning
Keep praying, keep hoping
Keep seeking, keep searching
Out of these small things and watch them grow bigger
The God who does all things makes oceans from river.
Blessings,

Maryland Day Out of Uniform 3/25/19
Per the Non-uniform Policy in the RSPS Parent-Student handbook on pages 34-35:
Non-Uniform Days Most non-uniform days will consist of the students coming to school in their THEME day t-shirt with either the school gym shorts or school gym sweatpants and athletic shoes. Occasionally during the school year, students are allowed to come to school out of uniform (and theme shirt). Attire on these days should be appropriate for Resurrection-St. Paul School. Students will be asked to call home for a change of clothes if the administration or faculty deems that any article of non-uniform day clothing is suggestive or inappropriate. Shorts may not be worn on non-uniform days during the months of November-March. If shorts or a skirt are worn to school on a non-uniform day they must be long enough to come to the fingertips of the student who is wearing them when their arms are extended downward against their sides. Pajama bottoms may not be worn to school at any time. Leggings and yoga pants can be worn with tops that come down over the hips. Flip-flops, boots, clogs, Uggs or sandals should never be worn to school. Students may only wear gym shoes, school shoes, or appropriate closed-toed, low heel dress shoes to school on non-uniform days.
