Halloween FUN!
Students at WBHS celebrated Halloween by painting jack-o-lanterns and feasting on cider and donuts.
Congratulations WBHS Laker Sailing Team!
Huge shoutout to WBHS Laker Sailing Team for earning 2nd place in the state this past weekend! Way to go Laker Nation!
October Star Certificate Recipient
The West Bloomfield School District Board of Education recognized Joshua Kremer with a Star Certificate last week. Mr. Kremer is a social studies teacher at West Bloomfield High School and has been part of the West Bloomfield family for 24 years. His commitment to colleagues, students, and West Bloomfield is commendable. Everybody wins in West Bloomfield when we have teachers like Josh.
October Superintendent's Excellence Award Recipient
Congratulations to Jalen Jackson - Senior at WBHS! Jalen demonstrates all of the qualities of an exceptional student both inside and outside the classroom. He was nominated by Mr. Glinz and Ms. Marshall.
Every month the Superintendent and the Board of Education will recognize one WBSD student for academic excellence. In addition, the student must be dedicated to their studies, clubs and organizations, and exhibit qualities of a role model. Students will be nominated by WBSD staff and administration each month.

Congratulations Multilingual Learners!
Mrs. Finneran’s English Language Development students extended their lessons by practicing yet another language…coding! The EL STEAM Team of Maria Lopez-Barrera and Frances Palomino-Neyra worked before and after school to compete in the Sphero Global Challenge. Maria and Frances, with the help of student-coaches Mauricio Lopez-Barrera and Luca Palomino-Neyra, completed three missions and the results were out of this world. The EL STEAM Team was named a Finalist in the Sphero World Championship!

Go Blue and Go Lakers!
WBHS Band program was honored to attend the University of Michigan's 125th Annual Band-O-Rama Concert, featuring the Michigan Concert Band, Symphony Band, and Marching Band! It was a great evening of music, and we were thrilled to watch WBHS Class of 2022 alumnus and John Philip Sousa recipient, Arthur Yang, perform with the Michigan Marching Band. The students also had the opportunity to meet the University of Michigan Associate Director of Bands, Dr. Courtney Snyder, and the Director of Athletic Bands, Dr. John Pasquale.

Support for Oxford High School
The community is teaming up to support the families of the Oxford High School tragedy.
WBHS and Muscular Dystrophy Association
DECA is participating in a Community Service Project for MDA. Their goal is to raise a minimum of $800 to send one child to MDA summer camp this summer. Link to the donation page
WBHS and Humble Design
On December 6, WBHS students will be participating in a day of service to furnish a home in Detroit for a family who has been homeless with Humble Designs. The goal is to raise $3,500. Link to the donation page

Main Library Meeting Room
This sale includes books, movies, and more for all ages at reduced prices. Friends members can attend the preview event from 7-9 p.m. on Friday for first pick of the used book sale. You can join at the door. On Saturday, the sale opens to the public from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday is bag sale day; drop by from noon to 3 p.m. to fill a bag of books for $5. All funds go to support library initiatives.
