A Message from Mrs. Rittmiller

Greetings Families,

Being that February is a month filled with Bridges Bear love, friendship, and positive energy, I would like to wish our entire Bridges Community a Happy Valentine’s Day! I feel blessed to be your elementary principal and I am proud of our children, families, staff, and surrounding communities. In fact, I am thoroughly convinced that Bridges Community School has the greatest students, staff and families!

I love our work ethic. I love our kind hearts. I love that I have an amazing teaching and support staff. I love that we have learned to say thank you, please, and I am sorry. I love that a Bridges Bear sorry means not only an apology, but a commitment to make a better choice next time. How is that for Valentine love? Please keep supporting our students, staff and our school.

Thank you for your kindness, smiles, and support with kind behaviors, hard work, and modeling the importance of a solid education.

My challenge for the remaining days of February are to go unplugged as much as possible. Turn off the TV, put away your tablet, quiet your phone and social media, and cuddle up with a good book to help celebrate I Love to Read Month. Staff has also been challenged to do "brain breaks" that don't involve screens! This month we have had two incredible activities without screens: Literacy and Fun Night at Spring Lake Park and our Glow Party! Thank you to everyone that planned these events, volunteered and showed up!

YOU MATTER! February 7

All School Meetings - Student Talents

Thank you for your flexibility as we have had to conduct our All School Meetings in classrooms the last couple of weeks as our gym is still drying out on 1/2 of it.

Friday mornings when we have All School Meetings, know that all family members are invited to the gymnasium from 8:20-8:45 am. We review the life skill, hand out spotted slips and recognize students or staff for the amazing things that are going on!

This is also a time where we feature student talents. If your child has a talent that could be shared with the school community, please have them sign up with their teacher or in the office.

Science Fair - Grades 3-5 - March 2

If you are working hard on your Science Fair project, nicely done! You have a couple of weeks to get ready for the big day of the Science Fair. Mrs. Rittmiller met with Science Fair participants today to encourage participants and to check in on how the process was going to and to provide a sample of the complete project to the students!

How do we know if it is a 2 hour late start or a snow day?
