Symbaloo Is a very eye-appealing and easy to use container. Store all your favorite sites for your class. Symbaloo is easy to organize sites for special projects or classify sites by subject. We can also place it on your webpage.


Edmodo is another interesting web 2.0 application to add to your tool box, and one that you can use easily with your students. This program can be a classroom in itself. A place to blog with students, post assignments, make and give tests, and also communicate with parents. RCS has a county group and we all have school groups. If you would like to set up an account for your classroom, I will be glad to send you the link and code.


Twitter is a great place to join groups for your PLN. Be a follower of education groups or start your own Personal Learning Network with your colleagues. Some good tweets to follow are @elemchat, @edchat, @krisandjackie, @ rrooysden.


Storybird is a site where you can create short, art-inspired stories to read, share and print with a flash-based resource.

Class Dojo

Class Dojo is a cool new way to improve behavior and engagement in your classroom. You can give instant time feedback to your students using your iPhone--very cool! If you're creative, there are many ways to use this in your classroom!


Visuwords is an online graphical dictionary. Enter words into the search box to look them up or double-click a node to expand the tree. Click and drag the background to pan around and use the mouse wheel to zoom. Hover over nodes to see the definition and click and drag individual nodes to move them around to help clarify connections.

Make online posters for vocabulary, chapters and sections in textbooks, or biographies and historical figures.


Tagul is a web tool that enables teachers and students to create gorgeous tag clouds. It is similar to Wordle, but allows for some unique shapes, search capabilities, the tag clouds are embeddable, and there is no gallery to worry about inappropriate content
