- It is important because 9-10ths of all atoms are hydrogen atoms.

- It was named Hydrogen because it means water forming

Description:
- Hydrogen is colorless.
- Atomic mass is 1.0079.
- It is a non-metal.
- At room temperature it appears as a gas.

It contains 1 proton and 1 electron.
First arresting officer
Hydrogen was first spotted by a human in the 1500's. It was spotted by Theophrastus Paracelsus. He dissolved iron in sulfuric acid and observed the release of a gas. He said "air rises and breaks forth like a wind".

The element was first discovered in the 1500's, when Theopharatus Paracelsus dissolved iron in sulfuric acid and observed the release of gas.
Known Associates:
Hydrogens known associates are oxygen and when it is combined it turns in to H2O(Water).
