Breaks are EXTREMELY important when you are schooling online! I am sure that you have learned that already. Try this or use the one pictured below. Place the game board in a clear page protector. Use a dry erase marker to mark off X and O as you play. Once someone wins, set the timer for 1 minute and complete the row that you crossed out. Make your own FIT-TAC-TOE board or use the one pictured below.

CLUBS CLUBS CLUBS

All clubs are starting shortly. Some of our first clubs launched just this week, but many will launch next week. Sign ups are allowed all year long. Newly enrolled families are welcome to join us. Only the following 3 clubs have deadlines: Career 101, College 101, and Coding. Those deadlines have passed but will reopen in the Spring.

If you recently signed up for a club you should hear from your club teacher the first week or two of the month.

Club sessions are 2 times a month for October and November. Notices are sent out via k-mail and the live club session will appear on your class connect schedule for the day and time of the live session. Click below for more information.

NHS NEWS!!!

National Honor Society (NHS) is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding 10th, 11th and 12th grade high school students, and we have a chapter of NHS established here at TXVA. It is more than just an honor roll; NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Character, and Citizenship. Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service. NHS Membership is based on an application/acceptance process outlined below.

If you apply and are selected as a member of NHS, you will learn about the qualities of good leadership, participate in your choice of a local service project and have the opportunity to attend NHS monthly meetings through Blackboard (online). Here are a few requirements to qualify as a nominee for NHS (all three are required to be considered for membership):

1.) Attended TXVA for at least one full semester prior to the semester you are applying (TXVA school start date on or before Thursday, January 17, 2015)

2.) Has a Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above (If you do not know your cumulative GPA, please k-mail your counselor to find out if it is 3.5 or above)

3.) Currently in either 10th, 11th or 12th grade
