Happy Friday!
I have to say I hate being gone, but I absolutely love going to the PLC conference. I have been four times and always come back refreshed and full of ideas! My favorite sessions were based on the book Teach Like a Pirate. This principal had many great ideas that I would like to incorporate or adapt to our school, such as this Friday focus format. I also won a copy of Learn Like a Pirate. These books are wonderful. Brant has read them both and I think Beth is now reading one of them. If you would like to read one let me know!
Nancy, Crystal, Ashley, Jennifer, and Andy also went to the conference. They will present information at our next faculty meeting, but talk to them sooner if you would like. I am sure they have lots of great things to share. Also, Crystal won a data binder that are full of ideas. I am positive she will let anyone make a copy of things in it that would benefit your class!
The middle school cafeteria is much better, since the seating chart was put in place. Students were getting too relaxed with their behavior and it was too chaotic. I understand they have earned their right to go back, but as soon as their behavior starts to go the other direction, please put them back in a seating chart. Also, teachers make sure you are keeping an eye on students at recess. We don't have many days outside with the weather, so students may get too rowdy when out there.
FYI - I-Ready toolbox will expire on April 8th. Please print everything you need before then!
Teachers and students set a wonderful example as our visitors were in and out of our buildings. Thank you! Also, thank you for all who were very flexible with their schedule and were so pleasant and inviting.
Thank you to all who was able to stay and help decorate for the 100th day of school! I am so thankful to work with such an amazing staff that goes above and beyond for students. You all make school a wonderful place to be.
Snow Make-Up Days are 2/15, 3/31, and 4/1. Mark it on your calendar and in your newsletters.
Remember, we want a school where teachers, parents, and students are knocking the door down to get in not out! The way we treat our students and other people we work with plays a big role in that. Have a wonderful Friday! Make it a great one!
Sincerely,
Michelle
