Between the Lions
A CMHS Publication - September 2015
From the Desk of Kathryn Woodson Barr, McAuley's Head of School...
A certain magic surrounds the first day - and even the first week - of school: the swirl of familiar faces, the introduction of new ones, the hope in beginnings and the excitement of a new year. And I believe (and readers of Down East Magazine agree!) that McAuley is the best school for young women who want to be bold, informed, compassionate leaders.
From our traditional morning assembly and prayer service - to our much-loved Welcome Breakfast - McAuley buzzes with an unmatched energy and rhythm. Our opening activities set the stage for the entire McAuley experience - one that is always met with a profound sense of care, compassion and community.
While we especially welcome our new freshmen, transfer students and returning students, we also welcome faculty and staff members and parents who are an integral part of this special community.
Let's DREAM BIG in '15-'16! Here's to another amazing year at McAuley!

September 1, 2015!
A reunion of friends, a prayer service AND a Welcome Breakfast. There's nothing like the first day of school at McAuley!
Special thanks to the Parent Network for another successful - and much appreciated - breakfast, and gratitude to the Class of 2015 for their generous scholarship donation and gift of picnic tables for McAuley. The tables were well-loved by students, faculty and staff during the summer months and, as you can see below, have already been put to good use this year!
You're Invited to our Grandparent & Special Friends Celebration & Mass!
Honoring Eric Jorgensen
The Catherine McAuley High School community was deeply saddened by the untimely loss of beloved social studies and religious studies teacher, Eric Jorgensen, in July 2015. Eric was a gentle soul and a kind and committed educator.
Contributions honoring Mr. Jorgensen can be made in his memory and will be used for tuition assistance. The Junior Class has also decided to host a series of fundraising opportunities in his memory with those funds supporting scholarships. Stay tuned for more details including possible dining out options, a bake sale and/or t-shirt sales. Please note “Jorgensen” memorial in the memo line on checks, or please contact Ginger Jones, Director of Advancement, at 797-3802 x2018 or email@example.com.
