Introducing The Gulf Coast Handmade Quilt
We are excited to welcome these quilts to our range of handmade goods. These quilts are the perfect thing for that chilly night at the beach, the nursery or on the wall. The color palette lend itself to any type of decor from rustic seaside cottage to glam penthouse.
The Haptic Lab description sums it up perfectly:
"Our homage to the South, the Gulf Coast quilt covers everything from South Padre Island in Texas to Savannah on the Atlantic Coast. The complex and ever-changing landscape of the South is pieced from gold poly-silk to depict barrier islands, bayous, river deltas, and tidal flats. A unique embroidery stitch is used to indicate cypress swamps and wetlands, and the bathymetry of the Gulf itself is stitched per every 1000 foot contour.
Place names embroidered on the quilt include Austin, Dallas, Houston, Galveston, New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Biloxi, Mobile, Tallahassee, Tampa, Naples, Key West, Havana, Miami, Orlando, and Jacksonville. Pour yourself a glass of sweet tea, grab a comfy spot on the porch, and cuddle up with our collectible quilt of the Gulf. Quilt measures 50" x 72", machine-wash on a gentle cycle."

Everyday Napkins
A chic, modern, casual approach to fine dining. (greener if we daresay too.)
Fine dining, casual, alfresco, gosh, Everyday Napkins even make dining alone more fun. The idea is wrapped within the tradition of the monogrammed, silver napkin ring. Historically the napkin ring identified your personal napkin until the next washday rolled around. It was utilitarian, not merely the ornamental, frilly thing it has evolved into.
Everyday Napkins does that job and frees you and your table from stuffiness. The concept of Everyday Napkins was born at a large beach house where there was much coming and going with uncertainty about which guests would make it back to the house at mealtime. Each guest selected pattern to use during the week as needed.
Twice a week the whole lot went to the laundry room and a new selection game was played over patterns and colors when a new batch was presented. It always made a memorable time a little more so. (And saved water, energy and resources in the bargain).
Each set of Everyday Napkins consists of six completely different patterned fabrics. They are put together in such a way as to create a loose narrative color story. Within each set will be a variety of patterns as well as a little something thrown in for surprise. You can go traditional; dad gets plaid, Susie pink polka dots, or just throw it all out the window and let everyone pick their own. The main thing is to enjoy your experience... and to remember which napkin is yours from meal to meal.
Each set of everyday napkins is completely different. They are made of a mixture of new and vintage fabrics that have been carefully selected. We take care to ensure that all fabrics are cotton or linen; in the case of vintage fabrics we go by instinct and hand. Each napkin is eighteen inches square with a generous one inch hem.
So go ahead and throw tradition out the window...you, your family, your guests and your washing machine will love it!
