Ancient Egypt's Great Sphinx
The Great Sphinx of ancient Egypt is a large piece of natural rock that looks like a
Human-headed lion. It guards in front of Khafra's pyramid. Many people believed that there was hidden passageways and hidden rooms underneath the Great Sphinx. A beard was added almost a hundred years after it was built.
Ancient Egypt's Nile
The Nile lies in the heart of Egypt. It runs south to north beginning in the mountains of the south and ending about 4,000 miles later at the Mediterranean Sea. The Nile was home to fishing, sailing and provided water for them. It provided papyrus for them which grew wildly along its banks. When the Nile flooded it left soil rich for crops and plan and plants to grow.
