San Antonio Mini Maker Faire
The San Antonio Mini Maker Faire, taking place March 26, 2016, at the Central Library, is a celebration and a showcase of the vibrant creative Maker community of San Antonio. Exhibiting Makers include robot builders, crocheters, 3D printers, geometrical modelers, cosplayers, coders, digital media artist, and more. This event is free and open to the public, with a wide range of hands-on activities, exhibits, and performances for children, teens, and adults. We hope to see you there!
ABOUT MAKER FAIRE:
Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.
Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.

Mondays- Chess Instruction with Alex Weinberg during lunch
Roosevelt High School’s Chess Team meets in the Library Conference Room on Mondays during lunches. You can bring your lunch. Lunch Passes available, please request one from the library. Also, if you attend, you will get a team t-shirt.
Tuesdays- Isshoni Anime Society After School @4:15 PM
Obsessed with Anime? Looking for a place to watch and talk about it? Then come join the Isshoni Anime Society in the library and get your geek on!
Wednesdays- Teen Time After School @4:15 PM
1st Wednesdays of the Month
Teen Book Club- April 6th we will discuss the Mayor's Book Club selection, The Book Thief.
2nd Wednesdays of the Month
3D Printer Activity- Come and meet with us to learn how to use this printer for useful or fun items. Every week a teen who attends, gets to pick a print of their choice.
3rd and 5th Wednesdays of the Month
Gaming- Come and join in for old school board or card games.
4th Wednesdays of the Month
4th Wednesday Fandom- Join other fans as we discuss and create crafts and food items that relate to our “fan” fury of the moment. April 27th will be a Dr. Who craft.
Thursdays- Teen Time during lunch
Thursdays-Teen Chess After School @4:30 PM
Chess Master, Alex Weinberg, provides chess strategy instruction for chess
enthusiasts each week. Domino’s provides the pizza after you practice and play.
