Attractions
John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park
Did you know that John Pennekamp was a Miami newspaper editor before he opened his underwater park? The park opened in 1963. It is located in Key Largo, Florida. It is the first underwater sea park. If some people want to see the park but don’t want to snorkel to see it, you can go on a boat. The boat has a glass bottom so you can see the sea. The water covers approximately 178 square miles of coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove swamps. The park expands 3 miles into the Atlantic Ocean and is approximately 25 miles long. The park is the most beautiful and diverse of all living communities.
Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World is the place where dreams come true. Well at least in the commercials. Walt Disney World is located in Orlando, Florida. There are four main parks that make up disney world. They are Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios (it used to be called MGM) and Epcot. There are also two water parks and two shopping and dining areas. The water parks are Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Blizzard Beach has a winter theme and, Typhoon Lagoon has a theme of coral reefs and summer. They are the total opposite. Also Blizzard Beach has the tallest water slide in the U.S called Summit Plummet. The two shopping and dining areas are Downtown Disney and The Disney Boardwalk.
Walt Disney World opened on October 1st, 1971. The tickets for an adult were $3.50 when it first opened but, today they are now $85.00. That is a difference of $81.50.
When it is time to decorate for Christmas they put up more than 1,500 christmas trees. On christmas day they have a parade and on the television they switch of from Walt Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World. That is most likely the reason for why they need so much trees.
There are a lot of fun rides in each park. I know that all families that go there are sure to have a tremendous time going on all the rides!
