What We Read
Walter Had a Best Friend is another Chickadee Award Nominee book about two best friends who quietly grow apart; after first feeling hurt and lonely, Walter makes a new friend. As we continue to learn about friendship throughout the Pre-K year, we like that this story is about friendship and all the feelings of making and having friends.
Ideas for Home
- As we inch closer to kindergarten, encourage independence in your child at home. They can work to pack and unpack their bag and practice opening food and lunch containers, snack bags, and drinks!
