Member Enrollment Update

October 1 began the new 4-H year. Normally, this is the time to re-enroll and sign up for projects in 4-HOnline. However, this year, 4-HOnline is being upgraded and is currently unavailable. Best guess estimate is that it should be back up and functional about November 1st. I will let you all know when this is available again.

County T-Shirt Design Contest!

It was decided we need to do an updated county 4-H t-shirt. The parent/leader's group wants 4-H member's help in determining what it's going to look like. Winner receives a free shirt featuring his/her drawing and bragging rights.

Rules and guidelines:

  1. Must contain the 4-H Clover and the phrase “Hand County 4-H” somewhere in the design.
  2. Cannot put anything on top of the clover except for the H’s that are supposed to be on the corners (no pictures, words, designs, etc.).
  3. Shape of the 4-H clover cannot be changed (must be proportional and symmetrical). Drawing does not have to be exact if it’s free form. It will be fixed when converted over to be printed.
  4. Clover needs to be green with white letters or white with green, gold or black letters only.
  5. Drawing is due to the 4-H office or to your 4-H Leader by November 2nd.

Project Day!

There's still room for more participants at the upcoming project day on October 20th at 4pm. Click here to register. Cost is $5.

LCIA grant applications

Grant applications are due October 15th to the 4-H office. Application can be downloaded using file below.

Leftover State Fair t-shirts

The shirts that were handed out to 4-H members at State Fair are in their second year of use. This means that we will be designing a new shirt for next year. The leftover shirts that we have this year will be distributed to counties. First we want to make sure that any youth who did not receive a shirt at State Fair and participated in Animals, Display Exhibits, or Youth-In-Action (in-person and virtually) receives a shirt. Animal exhibitors should have received their shirt as they needed to wear it while showing. If you would like another shirt, or several more, contact Ann with your shirt size and the number you'd like by October 16th. Youth and adult sizes S-XL are all available, except for youth small.
You all should have received a Remind message from Mike, but in case you missed it, Mike Moncur resigned from the Leader's Association at the September meeting. Suzi Keck and Stephanie Cavenee are co-vice presidents for the interim. We will be electing new officers at the next parent/leader meeting, which is October 29th at 6pm. Contact Suzi, Stephanie, or Ann at the office if you need assistance.
