Affect
It affects how the skin on the back look, and it can make walking or daily activities hard to do without help.
Symptoms
Mild defect: child may have no symptoms or problems or might have a birthmark.
Severe defect: causes seizures, intellectual disabilities, or sign problems. Also get a curve in the spine.
Prognosis
Activity and participation depends on a number and severity of abnormalities
and associated personal and environmental factors. Most children with the disorder have
normal intelligence and can walk often with assistive devices.
It is not unusual for those with Spina Bifida to live well in adulthood.
