WELCOME BACK!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
USING OUR ONE WORD FOR THE NEW YEAR!
I encourage everyone to take a look at their word and remember why you chose it in the first place.Teachers, remind your students of their word as well! Sometimes, a new year gives us new perspectives, and your word could have a completely different meaning when looked at in a new mindset. Never forget your word is meant to be transformative. It is a guide for the next part of your life’s journey as you continue moving toward who you are meant to be.
What story do you want to tell with your #ONEWORD in 2019?

Need a little help with your New Years Resolution?
ENCOURAGE STUDENTS TO READ MORE!
Here at Alkek, we have introduced a new program that takes place everyday. Our D.E.A.R Program (Drop Everything And Read) is designed to give students an opportunity to pick up any of their favorite reading materials and read for just 10 minutes. All of us including, teachers and staff take part in this program as we want to lead by example. Make this a resolution to get out and let children see you read, as it just might encourage them to want to read too!!
Check out our most amazing VP who loves to go read with the littles and bigs during this time!
