Kids Heart Challenge
Our event is finally here! All students, K– 5 th grade will be participating in “jumping” activities” in P.E. class for a total of two hours during the week of February 10 th – 14th. For this event, our school is proud to partner with the American Heart Association and the “Heart Heros”. With February being Heart Month, we have been challenged to keep hearts healthy through exercise by getting donations for additional heart research. By accepting this challenge we could possibly earn over $2,000.00 for our school to purchase new physical education equipment and school cash rewards. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Maule via email at etmaule@d47.org. Sign up today to add your student to the 'classroom challenge' but more importantly to help raise money for the American Heart Association.

Dismissal Procedures / Idling Cars
From time to time, we receive communications from concerned citizens and neighbors about the negative impact of idling cars during after-school pick-up. In an effort to preserve air quality and reduce pollution, we request that parents/guardians turn off their engines when waiting to pick up child(ren) after school. We recognize that on very cold or hot days it will be necessary to intermittently idle vehicles; however, we request that this be the exception rather than the rule. Through a joint effort between District 47, the City of Crystal Lake, and the Crystal Lake Ad Hoc Clean Air Counts Advisory Committee, “no-idling” signs were installed years ago at District 47 schools. The City is a member of the Clean Air Counts Campaign--a regional private-public initiative of the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus, which was created to improve air quality in Northeastern Illinois. Thank you for your consideration.
