Tech Talk Thursday
March 19th, 2015 - Room 17 at Lunch
Tech Talk Schedule and Communication
I am later getting this one out than I meant to be, but there was a possibility of a meeting tomorrow at lunch that I needed to attend. That has gone away.
I am still working on the best way to collect and store the newsletters and other information on the web. I'll have something up and running soon. You can be certain, it will be mah-velous (Billy Crystal, anyone?).
Topic for Thursday, March 19th
Better Student Presentations - Part 1: iMovie
This is also a bigger discussion, so at first, we will focus on using the iPad. I envision this as a series of discussions that may or may not be consecutive presentations. There are so many tools students could use. I want to start with something very simple and readily available to all: iMove.
What we will cover tomorrow:
- Examples of good student presentations
- Pros and cons of using iMovie
- Tips for iMovie success
- Collecting the videos versus student sharing (and what the options are)
- What iMove on the iPad can and can't do
- Logistic issues for recording in class (and possible solutions)
Hands On, Anyone?
If we have time and you are willing, we can do some hands on use of iMovie. Please make sure iMovie is installed on your iPad, if you want hands on work.
The most requested apps/services teachers requested to talk about at TechTalks:
- iMovie
- Something new that isn't PowerPoint like
- Google Slides
- Prezi
- Not Explain Everything
- ScreenChomp and Doceri like apps
