Read Across America and World Read Aloud Day

Read Across America: Dr. Seuss' Birthday is March 2nd, and MWE will celebrate with Seusstastical Fun in the library all week long! Please send your students to have fun with words and all things Seuss throughout the week!

World Read Aloud Day: is officially on March 4th, but we are celebrating throughout the week by taking time out to READ ALOUD at all grade levels! Feel free to add activities in your classroom as well!

MARCH BOOK MADNESS - Voting begins MARCH 4

The brackets are displayed on the Library windows and book covers will advance as the voting continues. Each week (beginning on Wed. and ending the following Tues.) students will be allowed to vote online for the books still in the competition. Students can do this in the library, in your classroom, at home, or as a class.

Here's how it works:

Every day I will have students, teachers, or staff members talk about books that are still on the ballot on the morning announcements. I might even throw in a book trailer for some of the newer titles!

The website will collect our votes, along with the votes of other participating schools across the country, to determine which books win out of each pairing.

Each week the bracket will narrow, just like the NCAA basketball tournament, and voting will continue until we find out which book wins from each category!

May the best book win!
