Principal's Report - Dr. Phillip Reavis

Dads of Great Students

Over 425 dads, students, and volunteers (see picture above) attended the annual Watch D.O.G.S. kickoff event. Dads are asked to take one day off from work to volunteer at Oakview during the school year. Dads, granddads, uncles, and others show their support to Oakview and send a strong message that education is important!

K5 & 1st Breakfast with Dads

All fathers of preschool, kindergarten, and first grade students are invited to join us for doughnuts, coffee, and juice on Wednesday, September 28, at 7:15 a.m.! This is a great opportunity to be on campus with your children and show support for their education. To enter this event, dads MUST present a state issued driver’s license or photo ID card.

Volunteer Background Checks

In its ongoing effort to provide a safe school environment for students, Greenville County Schools is implementing additional security checks for school volunteers. Follow the link below to complete the steps for this new process. It is REQUIRED that ALL volunteers complete an application BEFORE they show up for their first day of volunteering. If you plan to chaperone a field trip, you must complete the Level II background check. Please allow for a three-week turnaround on this check.

President's Report - Mandi Morin

Happy Fall, Oakview families! We had a fantastic Watch D.O.G.S. kick-off on September 20. It was wonderful seeing all of the gentlemen in attendance! Our Boosterthon Fun Run kick-off is September 27. PTA is hoping for cool weather for the actual Fun Run on October 6. Please come out and cheer on our students as they take part in this fun event! The Hootenanny Fall Festival is also coming soon. Read on for more details about these exciting events. As always, please email me at if you have any questions or comments about Oakview PTA.

This year’s main fundraiser, Boosterthon, is almost here! It’s a nine-day program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on Tuesday, September 27. Over the next six days, children ask friends and family for pledges for every lap they run (30-35 laps). Then on Thursday, October 6, we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run. Our main goal is to raise funds for classroom libraries and new technology. The Fun Run experts at Boosterthon will power our Fun Run to make it more profitable, easier, and fun.

Students will experience an amazing character theme, BACKYARD BOX OFFICE! It’s a movie theme about making a difference by getting into character. They will learn from five REAL kid difference-makers. From inventors, to world-class speakers and business owners, to world-record holders, these kids will inspire our students to practice the five “Character Acts” and make a difference in our community.

You can also help our school by reaching out to potential sponsors.

All families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Fun Run! Thank you for your support!
