Special Messages

8th Grade Parents - Your students are going on a field trip on April 13th. They will visit the JFK Museum, the Holocaust Museum, and the Old Red Museum. General Admission for all three museums is $16 per student. If you have not done so already, please go online to MyPaymentsPlus.com by Monday, March 13th to pay for and register your child for the trip. Please let Mrs. Brotherson or Ms. Yancey know if you have any questions.

Boys' and Girls' Soccer Tryouts -

BOYS: Tryout signup in Coach Moore's room (E118) until March 17th. 8th grade tryouts are March 20th-22nd before school. 7th grade tryouts are March 22nd-24th before school.

GIRLS: Mandatory tryout meeting in Coach Troupe's room (E107) is March 16th at 7:55 a.m. Tryouts for 7th and 8th grades are March 20th-23rd from 3:45-5:00 p.m.

Calling all artists - The Art Club is back! We will meet every Thursday after school in the art room (B120) starting on March 16th. Space and supplies are limited, so the club will be capped at 22 students. Please check with Ms. Tyagi for all the details.

6th Grade parents – Keep those immunization records coming!! We are at 43%, quickly approaching the half way mark. Some things to keep in mind:

* You do not need to wait until your child has the HPV shots completed. While these are recommended, they are not required. We are looking for the REQUIRED immunizations – TDaP and Meningitis.
* When in doubt please send in the latest shot record you have if you have not done so already. Many times, your child has already received these shots, and I would hate for them to be stressing about getting more shots if they are already complete.
* Please let me know if you know your student is incomplete, but you don’t have an appointment until later. This helps me track numbers.
* Athletic Physical forms are handled through the coaches, and the UIL Physical Form can be found on their page. I understand waiting to get everything done at once, but I only get the shots, the coaches get the physical forms.
* I will email you once I enter your child’s record into the computer so you know they are complete. If you send in a record but do not hear from me, contact me and I can go track it down.

I appreciate your taking care of this issue as soon as possible. I hope everyone had a great Spring Break!

Join the Club - One of the best parts of middle school is getting involved with a group of your peers to do something you enjoy outside the classroom. Cobb has a diverse list of clubs and organizations to fit every student's interests, so encourage your child to try one out!
