| Meet the StaffThank you to those parents who were able to attend our Meet the Teacher open house, it was great to connect with so many of you. In an effort to provide you with additional information about our staff members, we have created a Meet the Staff document that is complete with pictures and profiles of all our staff. If you have a moment, feel free to click on the link below so that you can learn more about the adults within our building who will be caring for and supporting your children this school year. Additionally, we want to take this opportunity to thank you all for preparing your children for an excellent school start-up. Last June we reached out to you for your input on beginning our school year. After considering your feedback, we decided to begin this school year with a staggered start, and as a result, the first few days of school have been excellent - thank you for your input. | Student Drop-off We are asking for no parking, student drop-off or pick-up in the East staff parking lot of the school due to safety issues. Also, please follow the entry/exit arrows for the west side of the school (main parking lot). It is now a one-way to avoid traffic congestion. The entrypoint is between Maryview and St. Benedict with traffic exiting through our St. Thomas parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe. |

Orange Shirt DayOrange Shirt Day is an Indigenous-led grassroots commemorative day intended to raise awareness of the individual, family and community intergenerational impacts of residential schools, and to promote the concept of “Every Child Matters”. The orange shirt symbolizes the stripping away of culture, freedom and self-esteem experienced by Indigenous children over generations. It grew out of Phyllis Webstad's story of having her shiny new orange shirt taken away on her first day of school at the St. Joseph Mission residential school. It has become an opportunity to keep the discussion on all aspects of residential schools happening annually. Our school division will recognize Orange Shirt Day on Thursday, September 29, 2022. If you would like to purchase an Orange shirt for your child or for yourself, please click on the link below and complete the digital order form. Following your completion of the order form, please bring your payment to St.Thomas Aquinas Middle School. Please note that payments can only be made at the school office using debit/credit card, no cheques can be accepted. Orders are due by noon on September 19, and students will receive their orders the week of September 26. The cost of the t-shirt is $14.00 (youth or adult sizes). One dollar from every shirt purchased will go towards an Indigenous Education Services Student Scholarship. | CafeteriaSeptember's menu is now available on the website. Please consider pre-ordering your child's lunch. When lunches are pre-ordered, your student's lunch will be ready for them when they are done recess. | |
