Senior Celebration Award Nomination Form

In a few short weeks we will celebrate the PLP Class of 2014 during the annual PLP Senior Celebration Ceremony. This event is an opportunity to acknowledge the accomplishments of the graduating class and honor 3 seniors who have had a significant impact at CNU. You do not have to be a senior to nominate someone! Mandatory President's Speaker Series - Susan Komives

You may recognize her from your Leadership Studies courses, famous to the PLP student body for her book, Exploring Leadership. Susan R. Komives is Professor Emeritus of College Student Affairs at the University of Maryland. She is lead author of the Leadership Identity Development model research and is currently is co-principal investigator of the Multi-institutional Study of Leadership project, a 100 + campus study of college student leadership outcomes and campus practices that contribute to those outcomes. Susan was a member of the ensemble that developed the Social Change Model of Leadership Development. She earned her M.S. and B.S. at Florida State University and an Ed.D. from University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Service Track Workshops

Haven't declared your service track? Or if you have, are you curious to find more service opportunities within your service track? Below are different workshop opportunities to learn more about different community partners and ways you can help in your area! Attending at least one workshop hosted by your Service Track during your college career is mandatory for those enrolled in the Service Distinction Program. More information regarding the program can be found at Seniors graduating in the class of 2014 are exempt from this requirement, although all are welcome.

During this workshop we will hear from PreMed Scholars Director, Gwynne Brown and Riverside Regional Medical Center Volunteer Coordinator, Carolyn Dough on demographics and trends in our area as well as expanding and applying your service in the health related field. Bring Your Dog to Campus - SPCA Event

Sunday, April 6th, 11am-2pm

Trible Plaza

Bring your pet and join us in the Trible Plaza for a donation drive for the local SPCA! We are accepting toys, food, and cash donations. We will also be selling peanut butter and honey puppy treats for $2, and all proceeds will also go towards a better life for the animals housed at the Peninsula SPCA.

Destinations are added throughout the semester so be sure to check back often to find events that are of interest to YOU! You can even contribute your ideas to the Passport Calendar! Senior Celebration Slideshow Pictures - DUE APRIL 4th!

We need at least one picture (max of 5) of each graduating senior for the end of the year slideshow, which will be shown at Senior Celebration on Thursday, May 8th. This picture can be representative of the time you have had in the program or at CNU (can be a group photo, doesn't have to be just you!). Just remember that mom and grandma will be looking for your photo, don't disappoint them by not sending one in! Send to by Friday, April 4th.

ILA Accepting Applications!

Interested in applying what you have learned about leadership at an international conference, and learning even more from other leadership scholars and students? Consider applying to be a part of CNU’s 2014 International Leadership Association Undergraduate Case Study Competition Team!

The Department of Leadership and American Studies is accepting applications for the ILA Undergraduate Case Study Competition, to be held in San Diego, CA on Oct. 30 - Nov. 2, 2014 as part of the annual conference. Those who are selected will qualify for partial funding to assist with expenses. In the past, many students have found additional funding through other campus sources.
