Back-to-School Night this THURSDAY

Don't miss the food trucks at 5:15 before Back-to-School Night at 6:30

Our Placerita Parent Organization has organized the food trucks as a fundraiser for the Placerita Foundation with helps furnish students with supplies and activities throughout the year. Come early and sit and eat before starting Back-to-School night at 6:30.

Back-to-School Night is this Thursday - September 5th

Back-to -School night is a night dedicated to getting to meet and getting to know your student's teachers. We will follow your student's schedule from 1st through 6th periods beginning at 6:30 PM. We will begin with a short welcome and then simply follow the schedule. Your students will be bringing home a schedule sheet. If you miss getting a schedule sheet, see your student's counselor when you arrive and they can print one for you. A Placerita Map is attached below for you to use if you need it. This is not a time for conferences or individual discussion about your student. You can schedule those individually with the teacher or request a phone conference.

This is Book Fair week at Placerita. Your students will have some time this week to visit the book fair in the Library. We still have a couple spots that need to be filled during the week. We could not run our fair without our awesome Parent assistance. It's also a lot of fun! Check out the link here to see if you could help during the times needed. Thanks for your support!

Placerita Is a Title I School

Title I

What is Title I?

Title 1, Part A, is a federally funded program which provides services to schools based on student economic needs. Title I is designed to support state and local school reform efforts tied to challenging state academic standards to improve teaching and learning, and to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education. Title I schools jointly develop a written parental involvement policy with parents each year called the School-Parent Compact.

In the William S. Hart Union High School District, eight schools are eligible to receive Title I funds and implement schoolwide programs as a part of the Elementary and School Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), the No Child Left Behind Act of 2002 (NCLB), and the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015 (ESSA).

Parent involvement is critical in support of student achievement. Each school provides opportunities for families to be engaged and involved in their child’s education to support student learning. Parents are encouraged and invited to become partners in education with each school, contributing valuable ideas, input, and feedback throughout the year which is used to revise school site plans annually.

Parents are encouraged to maintain regular two-way communication with school staff regarding issues involving student learning and successful participation in school-sponsored programs. Parents should also play an active role in assisting their student with academic learning at home, and monitoring their student’s progress.

For more parent information see the link to the District Website HERE.

Title I Parent Compact

The document below is an agreement between the District, the School and the parents about the understanding that we are fortunate to have the ability to have access to our Title I funds and that we agree to use this resource equitably and effectively. The PDF version of the document is available by clicking the link below the picture. Also, after reading please complete the Form acknowledging your reading. Thank you so much! If you have questions about Title I please email Principal John Turner at
