Mr Taylor - Lead Stingray
Welcome Back Stingrays and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing winter break. Our teachers returned on January 5th to prepare for a knowledge packed second semester. They have planned in-depth and engaging lessons to carry them through the 3rd quarter. The students will benefit from all their extra preparation.
I am also excited to announce that SGMS reigned superior in comparison to other middle and high schools in regards to our staff and student attendance. We coveted the district trophy for the entire first semester in both categories. With the new district competition criteria, we strive to maintain our title for the second semester. We cannot do it without your help. Attendance matters every day and we cannot be successful without it.
If your child failed any course during the first semester, please monitor his/her progress closely to insure completion prior to the end of school. Waiting until the last minute is stressful and typically unsuccessful for your child. If you need any assistance, please reach out to your students guidance counselor. Mrs. Blume serves students whose last name is "A-GL". Mrs. Cathcart serves "Go-O" and we are excited to introduce Mr. Elvin Padilla as our newest addition to guidance serving "P-Z". In addition we are thrilled to introduce our new 7th grade science teacher Mr. Roger La Marca. We are extremely lucky to have both of these Stingrays joining our SGMS Stingray Team.
Again I would like to send a warm "welcome back" and I look forward to building relationships with all of our Stingrays, including you as well. Please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
