Friday completes the first nine-week grading period. Grades will be final in the gradebook by midnight on Monday, October 19. We will be sending home student report cards toward the end of the next week. We will also upload report cards in the parent portal in Skyward. Please check your child's grades. With two grading periods this semester, it is important that students stay on top of nine-week grades as the two grading periods will be averaged together to determine the semester grade.
***Please encourage your child to attend morning tutorials at 7:55am each morning if they are currently failing a class. Check those grades online so you are aware of their current grade. There is a link in this S'More to a video which will show you how to check these grades. I have also told each student they are to check grades daily. Please HELP!
As we enter FLU and Strep season, while still dealing with COVID symptoms
Parents must ensure they do not send a child to school if the child has COVID-19 symptoms or is lab-confirmed with COVID-19. Also watch for flu and strep symptoms as well.
We want each student and staff member to stay healthy and we could use your help with this each day.
Virtual Students to Return to In-Person Learning - Oct. 13
When students return to the campus, they should bring their district-owned technology to school. If you plan to unenroll your child, please make arrangements with your child’s campus to return all district-owned technology. Failure to return district-owned technology in a timely manner may result in legal action.
As the COVID-19 public health situation continues, we expect that some students will be required by the City of Lubbock Health Department or other medical officials to quarantine. Take-home school work will be provided to these students for the duration of the quarantine period in accordance with the district’s absence policy. (At no point during the school year have quarantined students been required to transition into virtual instruction; quarantined students will not be affected by the suspension of virtual instruction.)
Thank you for your flexibility and patience as we continue to navigate this unprecedented situation. We appreciate your support as we work to reestablish the safe, familiar, and balanced learning environment our students deserve.
Football Games vs LBMS @ LCMS Field
Important: PLEASE READ
We want to allow as many family members of players and cheerleaders to attend this game as possible. We will open ticketing up to family members of players and cheerleaders ONLY. They will not place a limit on tickets but ticketholders must be family of a player or cheerleader. Please help us stay in compliance by wearing a face covering when entering and by watching your son or daughter's game only. We don't want to limit the number of tickets families can purchase, so please be present for the game that your child will participate in ONLY. Do not stay around for the next game or arrive early for the game before your child's game.
We cannot open ticketing up to students, faculty, or casual fans.

A special THANKS to our sponsor, Grimes Insurance, for the donation of funds so that we can give a VERY deserving staff member $100. We are so proud of our staff and the community we serve!
Mrs. Baird's Teacher on the Rise
How the Program Works
Every month this school year, we will select three winners-one in elementary, one in middle school/junior high, and one in high school. These winners can come from any school district in the area-even private schools. We then plan surprise presentations for the winning teachers and students. We try to make these presentations as big as possible from an all-school assembly, to a part of a pep rally, to even halftime at a high school football game! For now, presentations will likely be scaled back due to COVID-19 and campus restrictions. But we are doing everything we can do ensure your teachers get the recognition they deserve.
Teachers On The Rise winners receive great prizes including a $100 United Supermarkets Shopping Spree, a lunch for two to the private Texas Tech Club, and a gift basket full of products and goodies from Mrs Baird's Bread. To encourage students to enter their teachers, we give each student who nominates a winning teacher a $50 American Express gift card.
How to Enter
Students are able to log onto our website: www.MrsBTeacher.com and write a short essay on how their teacher(s) go above and beyond the call of duty. What better way for students to express appreciation for their teachers?
