A Note from our President
Terry Knowlton
Dear LSLWSC,
Just wanted to take a moment to express how impressed I was with the Home Show this year!! Show Director Jim Mondl did a tremendous job!! Thanks Jim for all the efforts putting these great shows together. The skiing and costumes were impressive to say the least. There are dozens of people who helped Jim and contributed so much to the show including; Drivers, Dock Moms, Rope Handlers, Pin Pullers, announcers, costume directors, etc. I do want to give out a special thanks to Bre Czerniewski, land coordinator who did a fantastic job directing and coordinating all the drivers, safety boats, and helping keep the skiers safe during the show. Thanks Bre!
Also, I’m sure you noticed on the 4th that our Triple Rig is back and running fantastic. Thanks to Chris Meyer with Bentleys Mobile Marine Service for all his hard work, patience, and assistance with the clubs’ 2nd most valuable asset (of course the first being all the members!)
This continues to be an exciting time for our club. Friday July 6th, we have our second community night. The Arch Rivals will perform their 1 hour competitive ski show a 7:00 pm followed by the Freezeout Band who will play some great music out on the starting dock. Bring your family, friends, and colleagues out for this fun filled evening. Mark your calendar for Friday, July 27 as we will have our final community night with a ski show and the movie, Moana.
The Arch Rivals are preparing for regional show ski competition which will take place in Warsaw, IN on July 15th. Show Director Ted Woods says the team is prepared and ready to go and he expects to impress the crowd with the special tandem acts and skiing ability. Good Luck Arch Rivals!!
The barefoot tournament will be held on the little lake July 21st. Tournament Director Laura Gramolino expects a great bunch of skiers to participate again this year. If you are a barefooter, come out and compete in this tournament. You will get an opporunity to ski with members of the club as well as barefooters from all over the U.S. If you are not skiing, come out check out the tournament, it is always a great time.
On the housekeeping side of things, it is that time of year when some of our equipment ends up not making it back to the shed for some reason or another. We are missing several base ropes, ballet skis, and ATB skis. Please check your boats, docks, houses, etc. for any ski equipment that belongs to the club and return to the shed ASAP.
Finally, I am very proud of our ski club and what we do for our community. I am truly amazed by the teamwork that happens with a group as large as ours; 250 plus skiers and many more members. The ski club has been in existence for 41 years and will continue to promote the sport of water skiing through many of our activities. Thanks to all of the members for being a part of such a special organization!
Hope to see all of you soon at one of our upcoming events!
